How Christian Metal Represents Society Christian metal is a very uncommon genre of music. In my opinion, it is my favorite music genre. Christian metal represents our society as people who follows their dreams no matter any stereotypes to inspire others. Much of metal music is looked upon as satanic, dark, evil, and grim. Though, Christian metal seems to take that evil stereotype and turn it into a form of worship and expression of history and personal issues. Many common secular metal bands include Slipknot, Cannable Corpse, and Lorna Shores. Though, Christian artists represent and inspire listeners to be imaginative and to not let any common stereotype hold you from pursuing your dreams. Cerimonial Sacred - I hate satan - YouTube Ceremonial Sacred is a Christian black metal band originating from Brazil in 1998. This band goes beyond common Christian metal by using white and black face paint. Ceremonial Sacred reminds me of how the band Slipknot uses masks but Ceremonial Sa...

Different Genres of Metal For this blog I will be going over multiple genres of metal and what distinguishes them. Many different genres are classified through distinctive instruments or vocals. A perfect example is any country song compared to any Metallica song. The difference is clearly heard through guitar, drums, bass, percussion, and vocals. Though, metal genres are sometimes hard to tell apart due to the relatively similar sound they portray. Instrument tunings, different vocal pitch and fry, and BPM are the main factors of separating metal into genres. Black Metal Demoniciduth - "Enemy of satan" (Lyric video) - YouTube Black metal consists of light screaming vocals, quick distorted Tremelo picking, and fast percussions. In the song 'Enemy of Satan' released on July 15, 2017, by a band called Demoniciduth (formed in 1998 originating from Switzerland) is a great example of black metal. Range and pitch go hand in hand for this song. The high-noted tremolo picki...

Use of 'Fight the Power' in Jarhead The movie Jarhead, directed by Sam Mendes and released in 2005, follows the account of a marine sniper fighting in the Gulf War. The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Jamie Foxx, and Peter Sarsgaard. The movie portrays marine, Anthony Swofford, and his experience being deployed in the Arabian Peninsula then to Kuwait. Much of Jarhead presents the soldiers journey and lessons he learned through his deployment. *SPOILERS* The song ' Fight the Power' by Public Enemy, takes place after the return of Anthony and another soldier from a sniping mission. Both men are upset they have not killed an insurgent or shot there rifles once. As they reach their FOB, Anthony hears screams just beyond a desert hill. Anticipating to kill, he jumps over the top of the hill just to see American soldiers partying. In the background ' Fight the Power' is being played w...

Role of the Performer: Frank Sinatra Frank Sinatra was a musical artist and actor born on December 12, 1915, in New Jersey. His father was a tavern owner, and his mother was a midwife and was involved in politics. After listening to a recording of Bing Crosby, Frank began singing throughout his teenage years and was even taking part in a glee club exercising his talented voice. After his success in singing became known to many others, Sinatra joined Tom Dorsey's band in 1940. After 2 years of touring, Franks desire for a solo career only grew as he left the band in 1942 taking on all the risks of being an artist by himself. Quickly following his decision to leave, the songs he sang became chart topping singles. During his time as a singer, he also pursued a career in acting through which he starred in multiple famous movies at the time. His fame only grew but this time from acting. In 1953 Frank ...

Ancient Egyptian Music I choose ancient Egyptian music because of the interesting percussion and strings noise produced. Ancient Egyptian music was important for religion, war, and workplaces. The music changed drastically through time starting from ritual chants, musical entertainment, and now classic pop deriving from Egypt. The instruments vary extremely from common western instruments. Some instruments are the Darbouka, Benet, Cymbals, and Trumpets. Though, many of these instruments are alike western ones, the noise is different. The darbouka is also called the goblet drum which is hand-beaten, the benet is the Egyptian version of the harp, and cymbals have around the same design as the ...

The Evolution of instruments in Metal Music Metal music in the twenty-first century has vastly changed since the start of metal. The Metal genre mainly began in the 70s with a band called Black Sabbath including the members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Lommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. Though other bands were considered 'rock', the low and dark tuning of the guitar providing in Black Sabaths songs began a new world of sound for other bands to explore. Many fans were interested in this new genre which was unlike anything they've ever heard. Black Sabbath is one of the first ever true metal bands and helped influence the upcoming future of music. In the 80s, many new bands formed taking on the sound and tone of Black Sabbath like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Because of Black Sabbath, metal expanded using heavier sounds, heavier vocals, and different stage performance. Black Sabbath - Paranoid (HQ) - YouTube 'Paranoid' -Black Sabbath ...

"Cold" - Musical Analysis 2# 2000's grunge rock era unveiled some amazing, underrated bands. My all-time favorite band is called Crossfade. Years ago, when I discovered Crossfade, the music truly opened me up to the potential of rock that expanded past simple Metallica, Slayer, or Ozzy Osbourne. The most inspiring part of this band is the lead singer, Ed Sloan, and his personal journey through depression into finding God and now making Christian music. My favorite song by Crossfade has to be a song called "Cold". Sadly, the overall album was rated 2.5 out of 5 for their generic sound, but that still does not ruin the enjoyment I find in the band. The song was released in 2004 and the band originates from Columbia, South Carolina. Crossfade - Cold - YouTube ...
